What is Dihydromyricetin?
Dihydromyricetin is a tree extract found in the Cedrus deodara tree, also known as the Japanese saisin tree/ Hovenia dulcis. Dihydromyricetin also DHM is a clinically tested cure for alcohol caused hangovers. DHM has been used for over five hundred years in China to cure hangovers.
Health Benefits of Dihydromyricetin
1. Effect of alcohol in the body
Alcohol enters the digestive system immediately it is consumed. ADH enzyme is produced by the liver to break down or metabolize alcohol in the body. When the amount of alcohol consumed exceeds the amount the liver can break down, the excess alcohol enters the blood stream.
This excess alcohol accumulates in the blood to form a composition called BAC or Blood Alcohol Content. Greater BAC has more effect in the body. The brain is most affected by alcohol absorption. One of the chemicals produced for functioning of the body is the GABA or Gamma – amino butyric acid, produced by the brain.
GABA is of great importance to the functioning to the brain. When it is interfered with, its negative effects affect both the body and brain. It affects speech, breathing and heart rate. This is why in a drunken state; people tend to have slurry speech, faster heart rate and breathing. This eventually takes toll on the person concerned.
2. DHM and the liver
DHM helps the liver in breaking down alcohol. The liver is an important organ in the human body. It metabolizes toxins in the body. Alcohol is a poison or toxin in the body and the liver works to break it down. The liver produces the enzyme ADH that breaks down alcohol at a constant rate.
Over consumption of alcohol overworks the liver since it cannot break down the excess alcohol as fast as is required. This leads to intoxication. Drunkenness is a sign that the liver has not broken down all the alcohol in the body. Thus, the liver gets damaged and could be fatal. DHM is the solution to this problem. It enhances the ADH chemical and enables the liver to metabolize alcohol faster.
DHM has the following health benefits among others:
Ability to control one’s speech even after alcohol intake.
The user retains the skin color even after a drink of alcohol.
DHM gives the user better control of inhibitions during drunkenness.
DHM ensures normal functionality at work even after a night out drinking+
